Mankind is witnessing an unprecedented rise of urban sprawls that are enormous in proportions and often similar in the sterile looks they sport. This essay takes a glance at the various reasons behind the mushrooming of cities that are peppered with glass and steel towers with little or no cultural elements or a tinge of the history or ethos of the land.
A burgeoning population in the bigger cities of the world has put enormous constraints
on the resources particularly land. Developers and town planners found accommodating more people to be the need of hour and knowledge and expertise was shared across continents on how to come up with innovative building solution that are cheaper, space saving and efficient.
This quest for modernity undoubtedly led to cities losing their charm of unique identity.

Beside a massive shift in aesthetics also has a role to play post-modern art and design
often goes for minimalism and most traditional style are considered unfashionable today.
Another strong ground is the dwindling number of people with know-how and materials that are specific and local, which are essential to make any building have an old world charm.

In spite of the contradiction it brings to the table, the impacts of modernity on sky rises

People are little concerned about the similarities between cities when their prime concern is to have a decent dwelling that is affordable and convenient. All in all. I feel that although it is not very good for all the cities to look alike, it is one of
the many unavoidable incongruities of the present day. However, it is a matter of consolation that there are a number of factors that add favor and character of urban hot spots, like culture, climate and the people.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Soandso and I am writing to bring your attention to an unsatisfactory experience we had with Christmas Cruises on December 25, 2010.

First, contrary to that was in the advertisement, the boat was old and homely. It was cold inside from the beginning, but when a hundred passengers boarded, the windows became misted due to poor ventilation, which made it impossible to enjoy the views of the Sydney Harbour.

Second, even though we were provided with a "private table", there were so many private tables that we were literally sitting elbow to elbow with other passengers. The cheap, unsteady tables were put so close to each other that we became barricaded and had to ask other people to stand up and let us pass to get the food or to use the washroom. This all provided us with the feeling of growing embarrassment incompatible with enjoying the cruise and the Christmas spirit.

In the circumstances, we do not feel that is unreasonable to expect a full refund of the money paid to you following the misrepresentation of what Christmas Cruises were offering. We expect, therefore, a refund of the full $200.

Variety is the spice of life. Experiences and changes in life add colour and flavour to life. It is rightly said that, a rolling stone gathers no moss. Inevitable changes must be allowed in our life to keep us agile and agreeable in this world.
We live in the midst of different types of people. Some innovative people always accept the new trends and change their lifestyles accordingly. They always update themselves and keep pace with the moving world. Their inquisitiveness and flexibility make their life easy and gay. Human beings are easily fed up with the tight packed schedules and routine works. Some others are there, who do not budge an inch from their daily routine. No changes are welcome. They feel satisfied when their pre-planned and set duties are fulfilled. They do not expect any miracles in their lives. Usually, aged people stay behind while the youngsters leap towards new experiences.
However, I think that, people should take risks and welcome changes in their lives. A change of work, workplace, or lifestyle would definitely keep them enthusiastic and probing. All the gimmicks of life would be known to them which inturn would keep them cautious, and enable them to tackle any problematic situation in their daily lives. Those who do not welcome any change would be fragile and may collapse at slight difficulties. New experiences give an insight into life, whereas, a life without change is always dull and prejudiced.
To sum up, enthusiastic and innovative people are the assets of any nation. They ensure the bright future and the indentity of the nation of which they are known. We should have fantastic dreams and should strive hard to make them come true. For that, changes are to be welcomed with open arms.

Some people strongly oppose euthanasia, while some others speak in favour of its legal approval.  Discuss both the arguements and arrive at a conclusion of your own.


It is one of the most contentious questions whether the practice of mercifully ending a person’s life should be allowed legally or not, so as to release him from an uncurable disease, unbearable pain or undignified death. There are arguments supporting both sides.
Those who oppose euthanasia argue that it is a violation of God’s gift of life, and therefore, no one has the right to end anybody’s life. Thus, they put forth ethical questions for physicians and other health-care providers. Permitting doctors to painlessly put an individual to death includes a lot of risks. For example, there may be a misappropriation of power over life and death which may give rise to a great threat to the whole mankind. Hence they maintain their opinion that the practice of killing causes more harm than benefit.
On the contrary, the proponents emphasise the primary objective of health-care providers is ensuring relief from torment. To epitomize, physicians can bring relief to a patient suffering from fatal diseases like cancer and AIDS when conditions become overwhelmingly burdensome for a person and pain management is not possible for him. In addition, they claim that under principles of individual liberty, every individual has a legal right to die as they choose.
In short, the power to take away life will certainly impose the risk of misusing them and will reach an irrepressible state. At the same time, assisting a traumatic person to escape from the onerous pain seems to be an act of magnanimity. I feel help is to be offered to relieve pain through death, and the dangers behind it can be kept at a minimum by implementing proper legal safeguards.

It is obvious that the region holding the most oil resources is the Middle East, with 56.52%, over a half of total world oil resources while in the United States and Asia, the level of oil consumed each year is for more away from the oil resources they hold. The percentage of total world oil consumption of United States and Asia are 25.48% and 26.21% respectively. They are the highest oil consumption region in the world.

Another place that is worth mentioned will be the Western Europe. With about twenty percent of total world oil consumption, the Western Europe merely holds less than 1.5% of the oil resources in the World.

Regions that are not mentioned above have the close percentage between oil holding and consuming whereas Canada has the highest level of oil holding than consuming, the respective figures are 14.84% and 2.48%.

Overall, the charts suggest that Middle East is the only majority at oil resources held, while Asia, United States and western have the highest level at oil resources imported.
